Global Village Monitor seeks senior editor.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in Nation and International News coverage, as well as creativity in writing and editing.
Responsibilities include coordinating beats and assignments, assigning photos and graphics, and line editing stories for Web site and magazine deadlines.
This is an ideal opportunity for a experienced reporter or freelance writer to move into management or for a creative editor to work with a talented group of independent journalists and freelance writers.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of one to three years experience in newspaper or magazine publishing and possess a Associate of Arts or Bachelors degree. Experience with QuarkXpress, Indesign and PageMaker a plus.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Editor will oversee the complete editorial process, on-time delivery of work, and ensure that the magazine style guidelines are followed. Preferred candidates will demonstrate substantial performance in the following: content-editing, editorial management, writing articles, creative collaboration, and researching topics. Candidates should have a minimum of one to three years experience in newspaper or magazine publishing and possess a bachelors degree. Experience with Mac and PageMaker a plus.
