This high-level position combines conceptual and managerial skills in developing and executing brand-specific graphic identity. The Art Director will hire and lead a talent group of freelance artist and graphic designer in conceptualizing, designing and producing our print and outline bi-weekly magazine. This position reports to the editor-in-chief.
Qualifications:
- B.A./ B.S. or equivalent in graphic design or related curriculum
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years design and management experience.
- In-depth knowledge of Macintosh and relevant graphic software including QuarkXpress, Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat as well as prepress operations.
- Self-motivated, creative, high-energy, high-output individual.
- Ability to manage multiple design projects at different stages of development in a timely, organized and professional manner.
Relevant work experience may be substituted for education requirement. Available to work flexible hours a plus.
